About the Recipe

Bring home the taste of Lourenço Marques’ Portuguese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter per Serving

  • 8 Queen Size cleaned and deveined Prawns per person/serving.

  • 1 Cup of Mozambican Prawn & LobsterTM   Simmer-in-SauceTM per serving

Preparation

Family of Four:

Melt the butter in a frying pan on medium heat.  Add the prawns turning them occasionally until pink in colour.  Add the Mozambican Prawn & LobsterTM Simmer-in-SauceTM, enough to cover the prawns’ body half way.  Simmer the prawns in the sauce for 5 -10 minutes turning them occasionally.

For Large Dinner Parties:

Preheat an oven to 180ºC.  Butter a shallow pan and add to it 8 queen size prawns per person and cover them with Mozambican Prawn & LobsterTM Simmer-in-SauceTM.  Use foil to cover the pan so that the prawns are not directly exposed to the heat.  Cook in the oven for approximately 40 minutes turning the prawns every 15 to 20 minutes.

The prawns are ready when they turn pink, at this point remove the foil, turn off the oven and return the prawns to the oven for another 5 minutes turning them once before serving.  Season with salt to taste.

Serve prawns on rice or French fries and a garden salad tossed with Noil® Salad Dressing.

Great Tip:

Mix 1/2 glass of white wine or beer with the Mozambican Prawn & LobsterTM Simmer-in-SauceTM before adding it to the prawns.

Try the above recipe using Langoustines or Lobster.
